Nivada Grenchen is one of my favorite watch brands that I don’t own a single piece from. The brand was relaunched in 2018–the O.G. iteration was founded in 1926 and died in the 1980s–when watch industry insiders Guillaume Laidet and Remi Chabrat astutely noted the growing interest in vintage-inspired watches and decided to buy the brand name and its back-catalog. Their most recent releases are three new dial versions of the core catalog F77 sports watch, with one limited edition meteorite dial version of it. I got to go hands-on with the lapis lazuli version, and reviewed it for Worn & Wound. I liked it (mostly). But even with a positive experience on the wrist, I’m not sure the watch is worth the $1,390 it’s retailing at.
