Review: The Lorier x Worn & Wound Astra Stargazer
W&W produces an out-of-this-world collaboration.
Worn & Wound is back with a new limited edition watch in collaboration with Lorier: the Astra Stargazer.
The watch is a fun spacey take on Lorier’s mid-century-inspired Astra. The Stargazer keeps the Astra's specs — 36mm case, screw-down crown, Miyota automatic movement — but adds a dial that’s reminiscent of an astrolabe. In the dark, the lumed hands and rings around the center of the dial only add to the scientific-tool feel of the watch.

The watch world is full of space-themed timepieces, but the Lorier x Worn & Wound Astra Stargazer is the race space-watch that manages to stand out. There are no NASA logos or meteorite pieces or moonphases. And, perhaps most importantly, it doesn’t look anything like the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch. (The only watch that can get away with that is the Bulova Lunar Pilot, which can also lay claim to being a true moonwatch, and was designed to meet the same NASA specifications as the Speedmaster.)
The design is in keeping with Lorier’s “elegance-in-simplicity” approach to watch-making. It’s clean, beautiful, and, with only 200 produced, unique. At $499, this collaboration is likely to sell out quickly.
The Astra Stargazer is available for pre-order at the Windup Watch Shop.
